Jefferson’s of Adairsville is pleased to announce that Jonathan Cudd has been named Jefferson’s Adairsville Coach of the Year. Cudd has been with the Adairsville High School Tigers for 18 years, where he coaches golf and is also head coach of the football team. He has been coaching for 23 years.
Coach Cudd was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, serves to recognize one of Adairsville’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Cudd as the Adairsville Coach of the Year for his deep dedication to his team and his commitment to his players’ whole-person growth.
“Coach Cudd’s nominators spoke of how he pours everything he has and more into his players,” said franchisee Chad Hullander. “Coach Cudd cares about his players not just as athletes but as players. Coach Cudd has taught his players accountability, love of the game, and the importance of getting the little things right—lessons his players will carry with them far beyond the football field.”
Cudd will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, and his achievement will be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque that will be displayed in the Adairsville Jefferson’s.
“I’ve had several influential Coaches in my life that played pivotal roles in why I wanted to pursue this career,” Cudd said in a statement. “It has been an absolute honor to have the ability to lead these young people over my time here. It is something that I put my heart and soul into and don’t take for granted. Seeing the young people I’ve coached grow up to become great husbands and fathers is the best feeling.”
Last year was the launch of the Coach of the Year program, with Melissa Winters, basketball coach for the Adairsville High Lady Tigers, selected as the first-ever Adairsville Coach of the Year.
The Jefferson’s Coach of the Year award was open to coaches of any sport working with athletes of any age. Coaches could be nominated by athletes, parents and guardians of athletes, school officials, or other community members.
