Coach Williams’ nominator shared, “His coaching style is clear, supportive, and focused, which makes it easier for us to work as a team. On top of that, he brings a lot of energy and makes football more fun for everyone. I’ve learned so much from him, and I’m a better player because of his guidance.”

Congratulations to Austin Sanders, our 2025 Jefferson’s Trenton Teacher of the Year!
Mr. Sanders teaches Special Education at Dade Elementary School, where he also coaches wrestling. He is in his 11th year as an educator.
We can’t think of a better way to tell you what makes him an incredible teacher than by sharing directly from his nominators:
- “He is always planning and researching new, exciting ways to help his children learn and develop life skills. His work does not stop when his workday ends.”
- “He goes above and beyond to make sure the needs of our students are met. He drives AN HOUR to school AND AN HOUR home, just to work here at our school with our students. He makes sure we have everything we need to be successful while adding activities for us to keep the kids engaged.”
Mr. Sanders spoke about the joys of seeing his students grow, branch out, and triumph. He said, “Every day is a chance to make a difference, and that’s what drives me.”
