Congratulations to Makenzi Golden, our 2026 Jefferson’s Albertville Teacher of the Year!

Makenzi teaches Special Education at Albertville High School.

We can’t think of a better way to tell you what makes her an incredible teacher than by sharing directly from one of her nominators:

“Mrs. Golden really does an exceptional job at helping each and every child in her SPED classroom. She goes beyond her daily duties and responsibilities as a teacher. She does extensive research on what her students’ diagnoses are and learns what they need and what she can do to help them not only in the classroom but in their everyday lives as well.”

Makenzi shared her favorite part of teaching with us saying, “I have too many meaningful memories to choose a single favorite. I deeply value the time I spend with my students and the opportunity to support their growth. It is incredibly rewarding to watch them gain confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of themselves.”
