We’re proud to recognize Vincent Mitchell as our 2025 Jefferson’s Cartersville Coach of the Year!

Coach Mitchell’s nominator shared, “Vince spends most of his time training and developing young athletes to become the best they can be. He’s not in it for gratification or to further himself. He does it for the kids and not many coaches out here these days. He’s always there for his players and everyone around him no matter what it takes. He finds a way to be present for the kids and his community.”

Every year, in honor of National Coaches’ Day, Jefferson’s Cartersville recognizes a coach who goes above and beyond for their athletes and their community. These coaches have made an impact on their players’ lives on and off the field and have been nominated by school and community members.

Congratulations to Leslie Nix, our 2025 Jefferson’s Cartersville Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Nix teaches ninth grade Math at Cartersville High School.

Reflecting on some of her favorite teaching memories, Mrs. Nix said:

“I gain a new favorite memory every year with the privilege of watching my students walk across the stage at graduation. I’m filled with a great mix of emotions when I reflect on how far they have come in their short time in high school. So much growth and maturity takes place in those brief four years, and it is an absolute honor to get a front row seat. While I am thrilled and excited to watch them spread their wings and move forward into adulthood, I know that I will miss our time together each day.”
