Every year, in honor of National Coaches’ Day, Jefferson’s Rockmart recognizes a coach who goes above and beyond for their athletes and their community. These coaches have made an impact on their players’ lives on and off the field and have been nominated by school and community members.

Congratulations to Charlene Woolfork, our 2025 Jefferson’s Rockmart Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Woolfork is a Special Education teacher at Van Wert Elementary School. She has taught for 28 years and been a resident of Rockmart for 60 years.
A nominator spoke of Ms. Woolfork’s long career of service and care: “Charlene doesn’t just teach the kids, she loves them. She’s not someone who looks for the spotlight, but goes above and beyond for the students in her classroom, as well as the students not in her classroom. She’s also an active foster parent (on her own) and does bus duty in the morning to make sure everyone gets to school safely. She’s an unsung hero.”
One of Ms. Woolfork’s favorite teaching memories was hearing a nonverbal student sing one of the songs from Disney’s Frozen.
