Congratulations to Rebecca Shepard, our 2025 Jefferson’s Hiram Teacher of the Year!

Rebecca’s nominators talked of her humor, good nature, and most of all her deep engagement with the school and her community. She oversees Yearbook, chaperones prom, sponsors the French Honor Society, attends her students’ games and activities, and leaves her door open for any student.

One nominator spoke to Rebecca’s all-around excellence as a teacher and person, saying, “She stays late almost every day, and her classroom is a constant hub of activity, filled with current, past, and even future students. The reason for this is simple—Rebecca’s students love her. Whether she’s their teacher, has been, will be, or never will be, they’re drawn to her because of the genuine care and connection she offers to each and every one.”
