Jefferson’s Brentwood

Coach of the year 2025

Chad legate

We’re proud to recognize Chad Legate as our 2025 Jefferson’s Brentwood Coach of the Year!

Coach Legate’s nominator shared, “Coach Legate is truly one of the greatest coaches I’ve ever played under. He is the one and only coach that has ever pushed me so that I could go home knowing I was a little bit better every single day. Coach is very deserving of the prize. He’s the best coach ever.”

Please join us in congratulating Coach Legate for his incredible impact on the community for over 17 years of coaching!

“Coach of the year” hall of fame

Every year, in honor of National Coaches’ Day, Jefferson’s Brentwood recognizes a coach who goes above and beyond for their athletes and their community. These coaches have made an impact on their players’ lives on and off the field and have been nominated by school and community members.

Congratulations to Rachel Lytle, our 2025 Jefferson’s Brentwood Teacher of the Year!

Rachel teaches Biology at Brentwood High.

Rachel’s nominators spoke of the deep care she has for her students, and her commitment to their long-term success. Her coworkers let us know that their students often talk about what they learned in Rachel’s class, and she dedicates many of her after-school and planning hours to providing students with extra resources and one-on-one help. Rachel’s love for science was inspired by her own AP Biology teacher, and she’ll spend the summer training new AP Biology teachers as an AP Consultant.

Rachel also shared with us some of her favorite teaching memories:

“What stands out most are the moments that reflect my students’ enthusiasm and passion for science. Whether it’s a student deciding to attend my alma mater, choosing to major in biology, or pursuing research over the summer, I feel incredibly proud.

I have great memories of my biology students excelling in other areas as well, like school athletics, arts, theater, and community service. These moments remind me why I love what I do!”

Please join us in congratulating Rachel for her incredible impact in the classroom and beyond!
