Every year, in honor of National Coaches’ Day, Jefferson’s Gadsden recognizes a coach who goes above and beyond for their athletes and their community. These coaches have made an impact on their players’ lives on and off the field and have been nominated by school and community members.

Congratulations to Ashlyn Cagle, our 2025 Jefferson’s Gadsden Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Cagle teaches Special Education (Pre-K – fourth grade) at Glencoe Elementary School.

Mrs. Cagle’s nominators described her as big-hearted, calm, and patient. She always has her students’ best interests front of mind, and is a soothing presence for everyone in her classroom.

Mrs. Cagle spoke to her passion for teaching, saying, “Special education holds a very special place in my heart, particularly teaching social-emotional skills—a true passion of mine. My passion for teaching stems from a lifelong commitment to supporting individuals with diverse learning needs. I focus on building strong relationships, using evidence-based strategies, and fostering social-emotional growth. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to love, teach, and watch each individual child grow at Glencoe Elementary.”
