Jefferson’s of Albertville is pleased to announce that Adam Winegarden has been named Jefferson’s Albertville Coach of the Year. Winegarden coaches football at Albertville High School, and has been coaching for 25 years.
Coach Winegarden was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, serves to recognize one of Albertville’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Winegarden as the Albertville Coach of the Year for his inspirational leadership.
“Coach Winegarden’s nominators spoke of the incredible and immediate positive influence he’s had on his players,” said Sean McCooey, President of Double Dip Franchise Group. “Coach Winegarden holds his athletes to a high standard on and off the field because he cares about his players personally and individually—and the life-changing result is that his many athletes have been empowered to believe in themselves again.”
Winegarden will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, and his achievement will be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque that will be displayed in the Albertville Jefferson’s.
Last year was the launch of the Coach of the Year program, with Brandon Lyles, football coach for Douglas High School, selected as the first-ever Albertville Coach of the Year.Â
The Jefferson’s Coach of the Year award was open to coaches of any sport working with athletes of any age. Coaches could be nominated by athletes, parents and guardians of athletes, school officials, or other community members.
