Jefferson’s of Manchester is pleased to announce that Brock Freeze has been named Jefferson’s Manchester Coach of the Year. Freeze coaches football, softball, and baseball at Coffee County Middle and High Schools, and has been coaching for 20 years. Coach Freeze has also been a history teacher in the Coffee County system for 25 years.
Coach Freeze was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, serves to recognize one of Manchester’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Freeze as the Manchester Coach of the Year for his many years of nurturing the whole-person development of his athletes.
“For Coach Freeze, character comes first,” said Sean McCooey, President of Double Dip Franchise Group. “His nominators spoke of his incredible work ethic and his humility. For many years, Coach Freeze has worked with many different sports teams, always working in the background to ensure that his players have clothes, food, meals, and transportation—and also that his athletes grow up to be responsible community members. We’re honored to recognize him for his many years of service.”
Freeze will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, and his achievement will be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque that will be displayed in the Manchester Jefferson’s.
Last year was the launch of the Coach of the Year program, with Andrew Taylor, volleyball coach for the Lady Raiders and basketball coach for the Red Raiders, selected as the first-ever Manchester Coach of the Year.Â
The Jefferson’s Coach of the Year award was open to coaches of any sport working with athletes of any age. Coaches could be nominated by athletes, parents and guardians of athletes, school officials, or other community members.Â
