Jefferson’s of Scottsboro is pleased to announce that Tyler Vann has been named Jefferson’s Scottsboro Coach of the Year. Vann coaches football for Scottsboro High School, and has been coaching for 12 years—six as head coach.
Coach Vann was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, serves to recognize one of Scottsboro’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Vann as the Scottsboro Coach of the Year for his empathetic and thoughtful leadership.
“Coach Vann’s nominators spoke of how much he cares,” said Sean McCooey, President of Double Dip Franchise Group. “He is not only invested in ensuring his athletes embody a selfless, team-first attitude—on and off the field—but he goes beyond the call of duty at every turn so that his athletes know they are cared for, often providing rides and meals so no one goes without. Coach Vann’s athletes described not just a coach but a role model, and we’re honored to recognize him.”
Vann will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, and his achievement will be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque that will be displayed in the Scottsboro Jefferson’s.
Last year was the launch of the Coach of the Year program, with Luke Robinson, cross country and track & field coach for Scottsboro High School, selected as the first-ever Scottsboro Coach of the Year.
The Jefferson’s Coach of the Year award was open to coaches of any sport working with athletes of any age. Coaches could be nominated by athletes, parents and guardians of athletes, school officials, or other community members.
