Jefferson’s of Summerville is pleased to announce that Pam Albert has been named Jefferson’s Summerville Coach of the Year. Albert coaches volleyball for the Lady Diamonds and Tee-ball for the Braves with the Summerville Recreation Department. She has been coaching for 40 years.
Coach Albert was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, serves to recognize one of Summerville’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Albert as the Summerville Coach of the Year for her big-hearted leadership and commitment to making sure that every player has a positive, joyful experience.
“One nominator said that Coach Pam ‘brings love and laughter to every court,’” said franchisee Jake Lund. “Another nominator said that ‘everyone has a seat at her table.’ We can’t say it better than that. She will help any child, and she will support any child, no questions asked. Coach Pam has been pouring her time and energy into her community for four decades and never missed a year of coaching. We’re honored to recognize her for her service and dedication.”
Albert will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, and her achievement will be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque that will be displayed in the Summerville Jefferson’s.
Last year was the launch of the Coach of the Year program, with Roone Gable, football coach for Chattooga High School, selected as the first-ever Summerville Coach of the Year.
The Jefferson’s Coach of the Year award was open to coaches of any sport working with athletes of any age. Coaches could be nominated by athletes, parents and guardians of athletes, school officials, or other community members.
